CCC seeks to contribute to the recruitment, training and retention of community organizers with an emphasis on organizers of color. Community organizations across the country consistently have difficulties hiring and retaining talented organizers.
As much as possible, CCC works in partnership with organizer training programs and networks. Currently, we are interviewing organizations about the lessons learned in improving the vocation of community organizers. A few of those lessons are the importance of having a passion for the work, the need to create a system for recruitment, and the lack of funding for organizer training.
If your organization wishes to share lessons it has learned about community organizer recruitment, training and/or retention, contact Pool of Talent Team Leader, Hubert Dixon, III at 202-339-9342 or hdixon@communitychange.org.
