The project has publications available that describe characteristics of existing housing trust funds and the steps necessary to create a new housing trust fund. Please see the list of available publications.
The Project provides several levels of technical assistance depending on the type of organization.
Community-based Nonprofit Organizations
As part of the Center for Community Change, we give a priority to working with
community-based nonprofits. We offer ongoing technical assistance to these organizations
working to create housing trust funds that serve the greatest needs in their
community. Technical assistance is available to the extent staff time exists.
This assistance includes providing information, on-site technical assistance,
and ongoing advice and help throughout the campaign.
Other Private Nonprofit Organizations and Coalitions
The Housing Trust Fund Project will provide as much information and technical
assistance as possible to coalitional efforts to create local housing trust
funds.
Public (Government Entities)
The Housing Trust Fund Project will provide information and assistance, as requested,
on a limited basis, but expects these entities to secure the necessary information
through the publications available from the Center for Community Change. Any
on-site assistance requires that all travel costs and expenses be paid. The
Project will assist public entities in contacting other existing housing trust
funds for assistance or securing the services of a consultant.
If your organization is interested in technical assistance or if you have questions about the technical assistance we offer, please contact the Housing Trust Fund Project.
