The Center for Community Change believes that everyone should have a decent, safe, affordable home. However, statistics show that many low-income people lack such housing, causing grave health, economic and social ramifications.

Few issues are more urgently felt at the grassroots level. And as the housing crisis escalates, the demand grows for low-income constituencies to have a voice in the local, state and federal policies that affect their lives.

The goal here is not to develop thousands of affordable homes or even to secure billions of dollars to do so. The goal is to create an opportunity for local housing advocates to win. The Center for Community Change is strongly committed to this goal. By helping local groups build local power, we are collectively raising the place of housing in this country's priorities.
