The All Souls Parade
Last night Campaign for Community Change canvassers joined thousands of Tucson residents in the All Souls Procession, an annual event honoring the dead. We marched with our banner amidts skeletons, costumed marchers and enormous puppets. In the process we handed out at least 1,000 flyers to friendly onlookers and participants and urged folks to "Vote on November 7th" and to "Take a stand for immigrants."
One of our canvassers, Gale, who had never been to the parade before, called it a fabulous mix of Mardi Gras, Halloween and Political Rally.
Dozens of people I spoke to said they were with us 100 percent, that they already voted against Propositions 100, 102, 103 and 300, or that they would. Hundreds thanked us for being there and spreading the word, many taking extra brochures to give to friends and family.
Thank you to our canvassers and volunteers who urged us to make the time to be there. It was totally worth it!
