Every human being deserves equal rights. It's a fundamental notion that strikes to the core of all just societies. Ballot Initiatives #300, 100, 102 & 103 deny basic rights to a class of people and contribute to the creation of a permanent underclass in American society. That's wrong.

America is a nation of immigrants. Our diversity of background, culture, experience, thought and opinion has made America great. This melting pot called America has created the most successful synthesis of talent and ideas the world has ever known — and has made us the greatest nation in the world.

There's little doubt that America's diversity is what makes it strong. Yet, the politics of the immigration debate in Arizona is about to go too far. Rather than working to develop real solutions to the concerns of Arizona's residents, politicians are exploiting this climate to get elected. And the consequences are serious.

Today, Arizonans are faced with an important choice. Will we write discrimination into our laws or will we protect human dignity? The Campaign for Community Change stands on the side of human dignity.
