Arizona Daily Star Opposes Props 100, 102, 103 and 300

Canvassing Tucson: Finding Support from Neighbors Looking for Answers
Last night, 8 teams of canvassers went knocking on doors in central Tucson neighborhoods talking to registered voters and explaining the impact that Propositions 100, 102, 103 and 300 would have on all Arizonans. So far, the response has been very positive. It makes a real difference when one neighbor talks to another neighbor about an issue that really matters. Given the toxic and polarized debate on immigration, it's really the only way to make change.
What's the Problem?
Yesterday, the League of Women Voters and the office of City Councilwoman Nina Trasoff hosted a forum on the 19 ballot intitiatives on Arizona's November ballot in the Ward 6 Council Offices. David Siefert of the League of Woman Voters summarized propositions 100, 102, 103 and 300. He explained that the first three propositions would change the Arizona constitution. Then he posed a very rational question: "Is there a real problem that needs fixing? And if so, is the Constitution the best place to fix that problem?"
Arizona Republic Calls 100, 102 & 300 Nonsense!
In an editorial last Wednesday, the Arizona Republic said that propositions 100, 102 & 300 "miss miserably," calling Prop 100 "unnecessary," Prop 102 "counterproductive" and Prop 300 "punitive." They urged Arizona voters to reject these nonsensical propositions and stand up for human dignity. Arizona Republic:
